The NWS and the SCWXA did the same, public service. The NWS is paid for by taxes, the SCWXA by the members. The members are offered private weather watches now. We no longer are in competition with the NWS in the public view.
SCWXA is now a membership based club. Anyone that joins will have the private forecasts, details, and interaction at a cheap price for a club membership. We have unique weather watches and details to the Southern California area that any member would love to read and know what is coming to their areas.
Our criteria is not government, therefore the reason the National Weather Service is slow at times to issue products, or not at all. They must uphold a standard policy even if the meteorologists there know a tornado might hit. The SCWXA is now a private club, members can view all the private watches. They also can earn off referrals. Many memberships exist across the world. Hobby memberships exist and well SCWXA is a private membership based service now. It always was a hobby thing that helped people out. Sure, I have clients that pay for professional services, however, the general public can do memberships.
We have prizes and games we will play to win prizes for weather related stuff, shirts, cups, etc. We will have a lot of fun with the membership based service and I ask everyone to just join the "Club" and have a great time.
If the people do not want to join, they can move along to NWS again as that is tax paid and free to view due to that. I cannot promise they are timely or as detailed as the SCWXA, but they get the job done.
THE CHOICE IS YOURS ...
