CURRENT WORDINGThe Southern California Weather Authority is a private weather forecast center that handles weather across the entire Southern California region, including the Coachella Valley and lower desert communities via an aerial front page weather watch map and click-able weather watches when issued.
The SCWXA forecast area provides custom weather watches for heat, cold, thunderstorms, flood, snow, wind, statements, surf, and much more. The county service is San Diego, Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Kern County from coast, valley, mountains, and the desert you are never out of the loop on bad weather conditions.
Why is the SCWXA unique? Ever wonder how your local news has the same forecasts? Well that is because they are OBLIGATED to listen to the NOAA National Weather Service. The SCWXA is private, does forecasts custom, specializes in custom forecasting, and does not issue watches based on NWS decisions. These watches are issued on site.
